The plane has all the correct original parts. The J logo cutter dates the plane to closer to 1885. The plane is around 130 years old.
The tropical hardwood front knob is beaded and the rear tote has the profile listed in Walters Stanley Tools book. The tote has a ding shown in the pictures. Original japanning is a bit better than 50%. The depth adjust knob is right hand and has patent dates on the back. These first lateral planes seem harder to find than earlier type 4 pre-lats.
